thoughts and meditations

if you're looking for a florist in Salt Lake City, Utah, you should check out Avery Floral Design.
i've worked with them a number of times and they're great. allison did the flowers for my last dinner party, it was a smash.
i just went to a wedding this weekend with flowers by Avery Floral Design. it was beautiful. everyone loved the arrangements. it really helped to set the mood for a beautiful evening.

i'm just saying.

or you can check facebook, if you're interested.

what do you think about this?

here's a closer look:
the only way that i can reconcile this particular (non)design is to see it as a skinny-tall/short-squat mother/father archetype.
and while i'm all for nature and natural shapes, these trees are obviously groomed so you can't make that argument.

yet i hesitate to advocate for symmetry. no matter how many times OCD tells me symmetry is the way to go, i always end up feeling so vapid and unfulfilled.

i don't know.
i just don't know.

ps- if i were ikea, i would enclose a pattern for a seat cover in the package with my seat cushion.
does anyone know if such a thing exists? otherwise it's newspaper and eyeballing for me.

yuck

the first hours of writing are always more of an exorcism than any kind of a productive exercise.
