that's all i heard of their conversation, but what with the creaking door and darkening skies, i admit, i walked outside with no small degree of trepidation.

i've always wanted someone to say this to me... you look like death. i don't know what i would respond... but hopefully i'd come up with something good.
i say it to myself often. and i rarely have any reply at all.
